Dallas with Product
I did a fun ‘Social’ shoot at the end of last week, the launch party for the Hawaiian Superfood energy drink KonaRed, made from the coffee berry. Tasty, and apparently quite good for you as well, although most people at the party were mixing it with other pollutants which may have offset the wellness but added the fun-ness.
I was hired to shoot fun candid shots and set up a little backdrop/shooting area, and I had some fun running with the whole Red theme, red gelling a set of Fresnel’s to hit the backdrop, red gelling the hairlight, generally just adding everything red to all the red gelled PAR lights already soaking the Sunset Suite at The Edition in Waikiki. Digital sensors are very sensitive to red, and generally seem to go into extreme red mode at the mere whiff of red, so any and all shots from this party have a strong red element on everything.
The pretty girl in red is Dallas Nagata White, a fellow photographer. I actually did not recognize her when I took this shot, most of the time I see her in Josh’s shop Hawaii Photo Rental and I guess she doesn’t dress like this everyday.
Shot with a Nikon D3s, the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G AF-S and I added some Ringflash for flavor.
